Yorkshire Peat Partnership

Yorkshire Peat Partnership is restoring peatlands in the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and northern parts of the South Pennines.

Since 2009, the partnership has been working to restore blanket bog in the uplands of North Yorkshire. The team has surveyed 54,728 hectares of the estimated 94,760 hectares of blanket bog in the county and has completed restoration works on 31,526 hectares (33% of total estimated area) of blanket bog in Yorkshire.

The North Pennines National Landscape team’s peatland restoration programme aims to conserve and enhance the internationally important peatland resource within the North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark.
The Cumbria Peat Partnership (CPP) is a practical delivery group, led by Cumbria Wildlife Trust and made up of 14 organisations from across Cumbria.
Since 2003 the Moors for the Future Partnership has developed and delivered a landscape scale programme of blanket bog restoration, conserving and repairing the moors of the Peak District and South Pennines.
The Lancashire Peat Partnership is hosted by Lancashire Wildlife Trust and works to restore peatlands across the historic county boundary of Lancashire (including Manchester and North Merseyside).
The Northumberland Peat Partnership is a collaborative effort that brings stakeholders together to effectively and successfully draw finance to survey, manage and restore degraded peatland habitats within the Partnership Area of Northumberland, north of the A69.
